How to fix Google Pixel 3 Bluetooth issues
Google Pixel 3 has been introduced with lots of smart and modern features. Users are thrilled with the experience, but some are facing problem while using Bluetooth. Here, we are going to share some tips on how to fix Google Pixel 3 Bluetooth issues.
Pairing
If you are facing any problem while establishing a Bluetooth connection with a particular device, then try to pair with another one. If the connection is successful that means there is some compatibility issue with the first device. So, try to change the device or ask help from the technical support center.
Restarting the device
If a device is facing any kind of problem, then restarting or rebooting is the first and easiest solution.
- First, press the ‘Power Button’ and hold it for a few seconds. The device will vibrate.
- After that, the phone will reboot.
Now, establish a new Bluetooth connection.
- First, go to the apps list on the screen. Choose ‘Settings’.
- Then select ‘Connected devices’.
- Now go to Connection Preferences > Bluetooth
- Switch on the Bluetooth mode.
Now try to pair the Bluetooth device and the Google phone:
- Go to the ‘Settings’ icon and open it.
- Click on ‘Connected Devices’.
- Turn on the ‘Bluetooth’ by clicking on that.
- There is an option for pairing a new device. Click on that.
- From the device list, select the one with which you want to create the connection.
- Then check whether the pairing is successful or not.
If the problem is not solved yet, try the next step.
Updating the software
It is really important to keep the software up to date. It will bring new features, but not just that. It will also come with bug fixes and improved performance of the phone. To update the software:
- Go to the phone’s ‘Setting’.
- At the bottom, you will find ‘System’. Click on that. Then go to ‘Advanced’.
- Tap‘System update’.
- If a software update is available, it will show up there.
- Download and install it.
Safe mode option
Sometimes, if a new app is downloaded into the phone, it can cause the Bluetooth connection problem. When the phone is in the Safe mode, only the apps which are pre-installed will run and nothing else. So, if an external app is causing a problem, botting a device into Safe mode will help you determine that. If the Bluetooth works properly in the Safe mode, one of the third-party apps is causing the problem. You can either uninstall the apps one by one until the problem is solved, or you can go for a factory data reset (explained below).
- When the phone is on, you have to press the power button and hold it. When power off message appears on-screen release the button.
- Now you need to hold the power off for a few seconds. Then a message ‘Reboot to safe mode’ will be shown on the screen.
- Finally, click OK.
Resetting the phone and the Bluetooth connection in the car
- First, go to the ‘Settings’ on the phone.
- Click on ‘Connected devices’.
- Then go to ‘Bluetooth’.
- Tap the option ‘Forget’.
- If your car and the phone are already paired, then select your car name and click on ‘Forget’. All the previous connections will be deleted from the phone.
After everything is done try to establish the connection again.
Doing a factory reset
A factory reset is a final step when other steps are not working. Before doing the reset, take a backup of all the important data.
- First, go to the phone’s ‘Settings’.
- Then, find ‘System’ and click on that.
- There will be options for ‘Reset’. Tap on that.
- Click on ‘Erase’ to delete all data.
- Finally, give permission to go ahead with the ‘Reset’.
- Type your password or PIN number. Confirm it.
- It will take a few moments to finish all the steps and the phone will restart.
- After the reset is finished, you will have to set up your phone as a new device.
